Outside In

It’s been a tricky couple of weeks, but musically everything’s been great. My gig in Manchester, at the Peer Hat, was super enjoyable, and my new single Outside In was broadcast on Sean McGinty’s BBC Introducing show last night. Positive thinking let’s be having you 💜

Music Day!

Here’s me – fresh off a bus from rehearsals in Manchester, at BBC Radio Lancashire in Blackburn:

I had a lovely catch-up with Sean McGinty on his BBC Introducing in Lancashire show. We spoke about my experience recording a live video at BBC North West and a couple of other cool things that are around the corner… Check it out here:

The End (Of 2017)

It was great to be featured, for the second consecutive year, on BBC Introducing in Lancashire’s ‘Best Of’ show. I’m really thankful for all of the radio support that Sean McGinty has given my music since my first upload… 2018 will hopefully be just as exciting in terms of my musical journey (I’m currently looking forward to being an owner of a Novation MiniNova synth in a couple of weeks!!!!!).

More new material is on its way in 2018… For now, if there are any Spotify users out there that are interested in listening to some under-the-radar alt-synth-pop tunes, then please check out my latest music via the following link! Thank you!

More Airplay!

Really grateful that Blink has had more airplay on Amazing Radio thanks to all of the kind souls in the OurStage community voting for it!

Sober also had its first ever BBC Introducing airplay recently! Thanks to Sean McGinty and his team over at BBC Introducing in Lancashire for their continued support.

Currently writing and recording some demos ready for the studio in 2018!

Official Music Video and Gigs

It’s landed!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

I’m having a pretty enjoyable week of music so far – Wigan’s gig was lovely… There were a few familiar faces there, so it was a nice atmosphere!

Next up is the Aatma on Saturday 18th November (first gig in Manchester!!)…

Teaser and Public Vote News

Please see below, for the teaser trailer, for my new synth-infused track Sober (official video available on Vevo next week!):

Lastly, I recently discovered that Blink won the Pop category on the OurStage competition. I was so excited about this when I found out, as the OurStage community voted for the track, which means that… people like the track!!! I understand that my music won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but it is a lovely feeling when I feel connected to people through music (such as sharing a love for another artist or relating to another artist’s song)… It makes me feel less lonely! So, I’m over the moon that Blink got voted for!

OurStage Competition Results 2017

I’ll be performing at a gig tonight in Wigan, so will probably spend the rest of the day preparing for that.

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

Video Shoot, Gigs, & Playlisting

On Sunday 29th October 2017, I attended my first ever video shoot! It was a wonderful experience and Wasp Video were a great team to work with on this project. I won’t be giving away which single it’s been created for just yet though!!!

Here’s a video Wasp Video shared on Facebook, containing behind-the-scenes photographs of the shoot:

In other news, Blink was featured on one of Music Is My Radar’s playlists – wahoo!!! Additionally, I have been added to the line-up of a few more gigs around the North West of England, which I’m really looking forward to!

Bee Kind

Why can’t everyone just be kind to one another? That’s something I ask myself a lot. More so since May 22nd 2017, after a heinous attack occurred at the end of a pop concert, in my home city – Manchester.

To financially support my music, I work as a Pharmacy Assistant in a local hospital. Most of my work is ward-based, so I’m reminded of illness every weekday, which can be distressing at times. But the past week-or-so has been tougher than usual. Partly because I’m super-sensitive, but also because of the sheer trauma that has impacted on the city.

However, through the darkness of it all, a lot of kindness really shone through. Promisingly, it doesn’t seem to fade with generations either. For instance, I visited St Annes Square a few days ago, to quietly observe the carpet of flowers and tributes that the city had laid down. It didn’t feel right to take photos, so I didn’t, but something that really stuck with me was a poster that was left by a youngster… It was a line drawing of a creature on a yellow piece of card. Either side of the creature, a lollipop was sellotaped onto its hands. Written on the poster was: ‘To all the children in the sky’. So simple, but so effective.

I left St Annes Square with even more emotions than what I went with. But a few days later, and several thoughts analysed, I’m slowly getting back to my old routine. Needless to say, the incident that happened on May 22nd 2017 and all of those it affected will never be forgotten, but the kindness and strength of the city (from all generations and backgrounds) that showed, at such a difficult time, won’t be forgotten either.

So world, please be kind! 🙂
